Though there are minor warts here and there—the lack of a message centre on the watch, and the tinny speaker, to name two—when you consider that this smart watch costs just $39.99, it’s an unbelievable value for what you’re getting.Starting with the unboxing, you’re immediately struck by how cleanly arranged everything is, like an Apple unboxing. It was easy to put on the strap, and the watch came fully charged, so I could start using it right away. I downloaded the app and paired it to my iPhone using Bluetooth in about 30 seconds. I then started to customize the watch’s settings and picked a watch face out of dozens of options. The app was super easy to use and synced with the watch without fault.I was immediately impressed with the AMOLED display and the watch’s build quality, beautiful polished metal and polished glass screen. I’ve never had a smart watch before, so I was immediately taken with the health features, steps, heartbeat, and many other metrics with data you can also export to the Apple Health App. The watch pulls in weather data, you can control your phone’s music from it, and you can even use it as a remote control for your phone’s camera. That is, you can trigger a time-delayed picture to be taken from your phone by simply shaking your wrist, perfect for group shots. Again, a lot of value for such an affordable item.Battery life appears to be on point. The screen isn’t always on, but can be programmed to wake up when you raise your risk up to look at it, which is convenient. You can also activate the screen with the multipurpose button/dial. You can cycle through the preloaded watch faces by rotating the dial. All of the actions on the watch operating system are intuitive and I learned them in minutes.The watch receives notifications from your phone and myriad apps, like Instagram, Whatsapp, LinkedIn, WeChat, etc. The notifications come and go fast. I think they should persist on the home screen until reviewed or dismissed. In case you miss one, you can swipe down from the home screen to view recent notifications.Overall, this is simply a tremendous value: it’s taken me, not a watch guy by any means, and made me a believer.Side note: it’s marketing as a women’s watch, but with the black strap, I think it’s a unisex watch, and I am wearing it as such (with my wife’s endorsement).

I really like the large watch face – this is a good-looking watch overall and definitely stylish enough to wear every day. That said, I consider this more of a backup watch for myself. I’m used to my Apple Watch and miss a few of its features when I switch over.For example, I love being able to ping my phone from my Apple Watch when I’ve misplaced it around the house…which happens A LOT for me! This LIGE watch lets you ping the watch from your phone (it vibrates), but not the other way around, which seems less useful if you’re wearing the watch in the first place.The weather display is another area where it falls short for me. It only shows the current temperature, whereas I prefer seeing the full day’s forecast and hourly breakdowns like I get on my Apple Watch.The charging cable is unique to this watch and quite short, which isn’t a dealbreaker, just something to note. On the plus side, the battery life is very impressive; it lasts much longer than my (now six-years old) Apple Watch between charges.I like that it shows notifications for text messages and social media apps like Facebook and Instagram, but you can’t reply to messages from the watch, which limits its functionality a bit.All things considered, for the $39.99 price tag it was originally priced at when I ordered this item, I’m genuinely impressed with what this watch offers. I noticed it’s currently listed at $99.99, which feels a bit steep in comparison. But if you’re in the market for a basic smartwatch with a sleek look and long battery life, this is a solid option. It won’t replace a higher-end smartwatch, but it definitely has its place.
