Smells like gasoline.
These pills smell horrible and leave an immediate taste when one consumes them with water. I am concerned that these are not safe and potentially don’t actually contain any l-carnitine. The odor was concerning enough that I stopped taking them.

L-Carnitine is a natural substance produced by the human brain, liver, and kidneys. Its primary role is to aid in the conversion of stored fat into energy. As a supplement, itâs used to increase L-carnitine levels in people whose natural level of L-carnitine is too low. I do not know if my levels are low, but I do take this to lower my overall body fat.Personally, I prefer taking it before workouts as it is rapidly absorbed and does not interfere with other supplements or high energy drinks. Also, these are convenient to take in capsule form.So in the end, L-Carnitine is a beneficial supplement for those who want to boost their fat-burning capabilities.

After taking these pills for some time now I can honestly say that if I did get an energy boost, it was not noticeable. Not enough to say that it really worked. I did not lose weight nor notice a any metabolism increase.I can attest to them being easy to swallow with no taste, aftertaste and no belching experienced.To me, $35 is spendy for a product of nominal benefit.

Works almost as well as liquid forms – at a fraction of the cost
Iâve experimented with a number of carnitine products after seeing it listed among the ingredients in pre-workout supplements and being curious about its effects. I’ve tried nearly a dozen different versions – up until last year I always preferred liquid format, but a couple of ill options have changed my mind and I think they can be just as effective as some of my preferred liquid brands.Bottom line: for me it improves stamina during both weightlifting and cardio workouts. The impact isnât dramatic but it is noticeable for at least several hours after taking it and I like that I can get that performance boost from something other than a stimulant (like caffeine) that may have trade-offs. In addition, the longer I’ve experimented with carnitine supplements, the more I see actual benefits from the metabolism perspective – I’ve definitely found that this helps with appetite in the hours after a workout.Previously I had a strong preference for liquid carnitine over pills (and the impact is generally quicker). I donât know if the carnitine tartrate formulation genuinely has quicker uptake, but the effect is essentially indistinguishable from the liquid brand I was taking most recently. This is slightly more expensive than some of the other pill options I’ve tried, but still a much better value than liquid options which typically cost this much for a single month (instead of three months).

I take 1 capsule first thing, and I get a nice energy boost for my early morning workout
I’ve been using this carnitine supplement for a week, and it’s been working so well, I haven’t needed my cup of black coffee pre-workout.Even though I prefer to work out first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, some mornings it’s hard to get moving.I needed a cup of black coffee to get me going, but these supplements are doing a good job on their own.I make sure to drink lots of water with my supplement, wait about 20 minutes, and I’ve noticed I feel better going into my workout, and I’m working harder too.I haven’t noticed any weird side effects.
