Measure your plates/bowls before you buy!
This rigid portion control tool only works with a flat plate or a plate/bowl that is flat for the circumference of the tool. I have fairly wide dinner bowls, but they are not wide enough, so I end up only using this for portions with ‘flat plate’ meals (i.e, not wtih pasta-in-bowls meals that I had hoped to use it with).

Helpful guideline
This item is a helpful item for portion control. I use it as a guideline. If your plate isn’t flat, things will seep under. My nutritionist tells me to “eyeball” serving sizes. I use this occasionally to help verify I am close to the goal and make sure my eyeballs aren’t getting me into trouble. The only way to be sure every time is to use scales, measuring spoons, and measuring cups for accuracy. I just don’t have the time or desire to be honest. This, however, is easy. Cleanup is a breeze. If you need perfect measures…this item is not for you. If you want reassurance and help in staying in check, this is a good alternative if you have flat plates. IF you are measuring something that is more liquid than solid….stick to a measuring cup. This will not work for that.

Didnât fit in the plate
I tried several plates- it just never would sit flat at the bottom- most plates curve up a bit on the sides. So I love this idea but you may have to buy a special large plate for it to work.

Size Matters
Portion sizes matter when you are cutting down. This item has half a cup and full cup measurements and can go where you go.

ITS OKAY IF YOU NEED IT
I thought my portions were out of line but after using this I discovered I was using the correct portions already so I don’t really need it. I think it could be good if you need it. It’s really expensive for what it is tho. I would recommend getting the cheaper one. No reason this should cost so much
