Best cookbook
I love this cookbook and all of the balanced meals that are offered. I usually try to pick 2-3 new recipes to try each month and this book has everything from appetizers to breakfast to dinner and dessert. My favorite is how she writes personal anecdotes for each recipe 🙂

Excellent meal ideas
Excellent dinner/brunch/lunch ideas, some appetizer, soup and dessert options as well. The only minus would be the high calories of the dishes which did not correlate with the title of the cookbook âfeel good mealsâ. Overall highly recommend to extend your home cooking to new horizons

So many Great recipes!
I have only had this cookbook a handful of days, yet everything I have made from it has been spectacular! Tonight was Coq au Vin blanc meatballs- so much richness of flavors. Made a simple side salad to go with it and we were all full and very satisfied and enjoyed it immensely.Made sheet pan French toast yesterday, and even my husband, who is limiting his carbs, enjoyed it greatly.Did the double apple durch baby for a dessert a couple of nights ago, and it was almost crepe like in its delicacy and so flavorful.First day I received this book, I made the saucy garlic peanut noodles. Talk about delicious! Even my grand child, who normally likes basic stuff, said it was very good.I really like her ingredients- such as raw honey and maple syrup in place of sugar. ( small amounts used of them ) and the use of veggies and combinations. ( case in point, the peanut noodles ). She explains that if you don’t have a certain ingredient, you can easily substitute it. But most ingredients used are what people have on hand in their pantry or fridge. I really am enjoying her recipes thus far and so is my family. I am even thinking of getting a couple of extra copies as gifts!

Better than other cookbooks of hers
So she has four books out now. A few years ago, I chose not to get the first one, just didn’t like what I saw in the preview. So I got the second one. I did not care for it once I got it. With a subtitle including the term “Simple”, I did not find the recipes simple at all. And did not like the book. But I liked the apparent sophistication of the recipes with the pics, and I really wanted to try something of hers that would actually be simple and fairly quick. So, more recently, I looked up her three other books. I did not like what I saw in the newest one. Supposedly “quick”, the dishes just did not appeal to me. So I ordered the third one. I have not been disappointed. I have not made any of the recipes yet, but I have marked a good number of the recipes to try.A few things that others are saying: “Repeats other recipes”.. Mmm some, but then only slightly slipping in some other ingredient, but she switched out other ingredients as well. I did not see a lot of overlap with the 2nd and 3rd books. Perhaps she just made some of the recipes more simple? But overall, I didn’t see this all that much.”Too many photos of herself – as many as 27″… Again, didn’t really see that all too much. No more than any other “celebrity” cook. There are, indeed, only 12 photos of her, and these are almost all on the (chapter) title pages. It seems more like an agent/marketing/publisher decision than her own, per se. For comparison, I have a Jamie Oliver cookbook that has 17 pics of himself in it. So, no big deal to me. I don’t see it as an issue at all. Now, it seems like she overcomplicates some things.. like using several pans when she need only remove something as simple as grilled onions, to a plate, and use the same pan for whatever comes next. I also find it strange that she has bread recipes and several things – from scratch – yet, calls for “canned tomatoes” in many of the dishes. Why? Why would I use canned tomatoes when I can use fresh tomatoes? I don’t care if it’s for the “juice” even, that’s just GROSS! Every single recipe calls for “Pink Himalayan salt”, again, why? I’m sure if someone wanted to use it, that they would. They don’t need her to specify PHS for them. It doesn’t matter if they use table salt, Redmond salt or Himalayan. Just put… “salt”. We get it. We have a choice, stop pushing it. (I have, and use PHS, by the way. I just think it’s stupid to specify it’s use for no reason other than that’s what she prefers). It’s almost like she’s trying to create healthy recipes. But there really is nothing healthy (or very little), in this book.Overall though, I like a lot of the recipes. Despite all the weirdness.

my favorite every day cookbook ever
I’ve made 10 recipes from this book already, and I’ve only had it 3 weeks!I cook vegetarian for my husband. Many out of 146 recipes are vegetarian, and some of the vegetarian recipes are easy enough to modify. I have 140 cookbooks, including the other 2 cookbooks from the same author, but I’m really liking this one for every day cooking. The recipes are relatively simple, but not boring. Every recipe has an appetizing picture for extra inspiration. In general, I can make most of the recipes without buying many unique ingredients and there are not excessive dishes created. I can browse the book and find many recipes I can make with the ingredients I have on hand.Recipes I’d give an A grade: Chipotle cheddar corn chowder (used leftovers as a dip with tortilla chips -yum), Herb & Mustard Potato Stacks, Herby sun-dried tomato salad with Chickpeas, Double Apple Dutch Baby (apple butter, whole wheat flour and cardamon are nice touches), Dad’s Cheesy Tacos (I used black beans instead of beef), Pale Ale Cauliflower Soup (used vegetarian bacon but real bacon would be much better). I’d give a B to: Easy Ricotta Ravioli with Corn (it isn’t really that easy to make ravioli with won ton wrappers), Sweet and Spicy Ginger Soy Noodles (too soupy), Crispy Cauliflower Feta Bowls (kind of boring), Balsamic Mushrooms over orzo (pine nuts would be better than walnuts). There are many more recipes that I want to make including Sheet Pan French Toast, Maple Oatmeal Lace Cookies, Naan Breakfast Sandwich with soft scrambled egg and honey, Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, Cauliflower Gnocchi, Green Curry with Sesame and Broccoli, Cheesy Tortilla Skillet, Mushroom Pizza with miso butter shallots, Lasagna Alla Vodka, Roasted Cauliflower and lemon pesto pizza, Cheddar Ranch snack crackers, and more.
