    Form function pairs with longevity
I purchased his Garmin watch on the recommendation of my coworkers. I have found that the use of it the functionality the menu is very intuitive. It helps to keep track of my daily stress, heart rate my steps and exercise. The watch also monitors your sleeping habits it can tell whether you’ve had a night of light sleeping compared to rim sleep. I’ve owned the watch for about a month now and I would highly recommend it. The battery life for me has been on average 7 to 10 days per charge. I do not run the app in the background on my phone continuously just intermittently to update once or twice a day. It keeps you informed of incoming calls and text messages.

Best battery for features and pricing
I have had a galaxy, pixel, fossil regular and a hybrid.i have only had this one for just over a week but so far it is by far my favorite. The battery life is almost as good of a hybrid but it has WiFi and all the goodies that my hybrid didn’t. I believe I would get around 7 days between charges but honestly I don’t wear it in the shower so I plug it in then. Once I’m dressed and put it back on its at 100 again since the battery only appears to go down 10 to 15 percent in 24 hours.

    Great Watch
My husband has been wanting a Garmin watch for a while and he is very happy with this watch. The battery life lasts 10+ days. He loves that he can track his sleep, body energy percentage, steps, etc. He can connect to his phone and hasn’t had any issues so far. He recommends his watch if you want the Garmin watch without the hefty price tag of some of the more advanced models.

    Excellent Entry Level Fitness Tracker
Four stars out of five – it does a lot of things very well, but lacks some features that I thought it had because of the description on the Garmin web page – most notable the inability to track respiration during workouts. It does track respiration all day, so this must just be a software issue to get you to buy a more expensive version. The watch faces are a little finicky to design, but there are a lot of them on the Connect IQ shop (some free, some not).I’ve worn an A brand watch that works seamlessly with my iPhone since they first came out. I would say that that watch is an outstanding smart watch with a mediocre fitness tracker. This Garmin Vivoactive 5 (they now have the 6 released) is an excellent fitness tracker with an average smart watch. It pairs with the Garmin App and gives you much better granularity into your fitness metrics. It has a solid battery life – my first test lasted six days before it went into low battery mode and I used it for about 12 hours of workouts (which is a battery drain). The best feature for me is that it allows me to put all my workouts (including my cycling with a Garmin 1030) into one location, Garmin Connect.Overall, it isn’t a replacement for my smart watch, but it is a great entry level fitness tracker. I’m planning on using it for several months to completely understand all the features, then I may try going for a high end Garmin watch as a replacement for my trusty A-watch. For now, I am (ugh) wearing one watch on each arm.

    Accurate information
I love this watch. Way better quality and accuracy than Fitbit or Amazfit. It killed me to spend so much on a fitness tracker but I just could not do another Fitbit nightmare and Amazfit would not track my calories accurately. I think it does a great job of tracking calories, steps, sleep, heart and stress. I bought the 2 year warranty because several other reviews said it quit working so I am covered.

The best fitness tracker I’ve used
I’m coming from an Apple Watch Series 5. I had gotten frustrated with the battery life and sleep tracking and wanted to see if a more fitness-focused watch would be a better fit. I’m not a big runner or someone who does a lot of intense exercise, but I do like to track my exercise and sleep and get nudges to move when I’ve been sitting down for too long. I also like to get notifications on my wrist without needing to pull out my phone.Compared to the Apple Watch, the first major thing I noticed was this is nowhere close in terms of smarts. I had gotten used to Apple’s smooth interface, built in microphone and speaker for voice commands, and often useful apps that can be used without needing to get my phone out. That being said, after a few days I can confidently say that I don’t need them. I would argue that Garmin knows what this is and what it is not – it’s a fitness device first and foremost, and everything else comes second. And on that basis they nailed it – the fitness tracking has been excellent and noticeably better than the Apple Watch especially in sleep tracking. I also much prefer their approach to goals, which tracks exercise over the course of a week rather than focusing specifically on individual days. Whenever I was sick or had a down day I would feel guilty if I didn’t close all of my rings on my Apple Watch, but I don’t feel that same pressure with the Garmin. I do miss being able to use voice commands with my watch, but I could have gotten a more expensive Garmin if I really wanted that, and I don’t think it’s worth it for me.The second thing I noticed: not having to charge your watch every day is a game changer. This was easily my biggest frustration with the Apple Watch since it’s marketed as a device you wear 24×7 and yet needs to be charged every day. And considering how long it took to charge my Series 5, this was a major annoyance. I couldn’t charge it overnight, because I wanted sleep tracking. I couldn’t charge it in the morning, because I like to start off my day with exercise and it doesn’t charge fast enough to do it after a workout and before work. And if I charged it in the evening, I would often forget to put it on before bed and miss out on the sleep tracking. The Garmin is a breath of fresh air by comparison – I charge it about once a week, and with my relatively light usage it can probably go close to two. I took a multi day trip recently and I didn’t once have to worry about charging my watch, which was a pleasant change.Overall I think this watch is a great fit for a more casual user who isn’t running marathons but wants to track fitness and sleep and get some extras like smartphone notifications and see the weather at a glance. If you want something with more smart features and better build quality (i.e. more metal and less plastic), then the Venu might be a better fit. Or they have the Forerunner if you do run marathons. Or a bunch of other models for more specific use cases. But I would highly recommend giving this watch a try if you’re looking for the same things that I am.

    Amazing 👏
I didn’t think the battery would last as long as it does but to my surprise I went 8 days before needing and charge. If you are active and trying to track progress sleep and have everything you need to on your wrist this is the product for you.
