if you’re old, buy these!
I just turned 66. Unfortunately for the last 5 or 6 years, I’ve been sitting on my butt doing squat! I bought two 20 pound dumb bells and could not curl them once. I bought two ten pound dumb bells and I can curl them lots of times. I’ve been curling them 50 times, several times a day and I can already see and feel the difference! As you get older, do not get lazy!!

These shipped and arrived very promptly, they were well packaged and arrived with no damage. I ordered the 20lb set and put them on scale to check weight and they were right on point! I saw others mention their weights had an odor but I did not notice any smell with the product I received.

Good Ergonomics But Odor Could Be An issue For Some
I give them 4 stars because they are a great addition to my calisthenics workout. I personally have no complaint. Having said that, some people have complained that the dumbells give an unpleasant rubber-like chemical odor. They are not wrong about that. If you are in an apartment and have no covered private patio or balcony, you should seriously consider dumbells made entirely of iron or steel so there is no stink. In my case, I am in a house and I have a covered deck outside my door where I keep the dumbells. After completing my calisthenics in the house, I go to the deck to do my dumbell exercises. It’s warm enough 8 or 9 months of the year to just keep them out there. The rubber coating does not go to waste because it protects the surface of my deck, which is an issue just like hardwood floors could be an issue. With a little luck, come November/December, the stink will have gone away. If not, it’s no big deal.

Hex is the way to go!
I absolutely love the grip on these things. I thought the metal would be more uncomfortable, but surprisingly I found it comfortable and easy to use. Even after an intense workout, I find that not even sweat pooling in my palms really loosen my grip as it does on other dumbbells. Not only that, but they are pretty durable. I’ve been using these for years now and have dropped them on hard surfaces more times than I can count, and they have maintained a good shape with no noticeable severe damage. However, they are a bit overpriced, so get them when they are on sale, and I will say it is well worth your money.
