Vinyl is better than neoprene.
I accidentally ordered the tiny weight but the seller was great about returns. After getting pt for an injury, I have to progress slowly, so these lighter weights are great. The best part is the vinyl coating. I had another set of neoprene weights that were languishing in the basement since I was using weights at the gym (pre-injury). When I dug out the weights from the basement, I realized that the black dots on them were mold and that the mold was easily disturbed. Neoprene is not smooth and turned out to be a great petri dish for whatever scary species was growing on them. Carefully took them to the trash can and started over.

Weights are durable and arrive well packed
I ordered these to add to my “collection” of random sets of dumbbells. I ordered the pair of 12 lb dumbbells and they arrived in a very efficiently packed and padded box. I was pleased with how well they were packed, especially since I had that concern due to the couple of reviewers who had issues with their weights arriving in a damaged box, or in some way damaged. My weights were perfectly packaged and undamaged. I also saw some comments regarding the smell of the weights. They don’t smell, nor do they have any funky odors of any kind. Just a very slight “normal” smell if you put your nose right up against it of a light vinyl tinge. As far as how accurate they weigh: first picture shows that together they weigh exactly 24 lbs according to my relatively new digital scale. I also weighed them individually and they weighed exactly 12 lbs each. The size of the head at the ends is just a tad larger than some may expect, as you can see in the second pictured where I put one between an 8 lb and a 15 lb weight. The reason for the head possibly seeming a bit larger than “some” my expect is because they are not as long as some others. You have to get the full 12 lbs in there somehow along with the vinyl covee, either through larger head or longer axis. So it’s strictly a personal, subjective, choice as to whether you want it half an inch longer with a smaller head, or vice versa. These are very well built overall. The plastic coating is nice and thick and I feel very confident they are going to last a very long time if you take care of them and don’t bang them against sharp objects. I highly recommend.

At a time when dumbbells were out of stock in most stores and online (whatever was available was at a sky high price), I was happy to receive this product. There’re a great weight, they feel great in your hands and they’re not slippery.I always have a good grip with them.I was actually surprised how much I I loved using these shiny, glossy, uber hard rubber weightsI think I prefer this material over the opaque matte dumbbells they sell.Those ones are also good.But these glossy ones fit nicely and comfortablyaround your hands, great grip
