Great recipes
As someone who is going through her first pregnancy and cannot decide what to eat, this book has been perfect. It has helped me to figure out healthy meals for my husband and I, as well as, snacks throughout the day.

Absolute Lifesaver!!
This book has been an absolute lifesaver for me in the first trimester! I have had the worst food aversions to almost everything I was eating pre-pregnancy. I bought this in the hopes of finding some new dishes that wouldn’t turn my stomach and it has delivered! I’ve done quite a few recipes and I’m thrilled with the freshness, flavor, and nutritional profile of the recipes. I really appreciate the tags on each recipe to find things easily that fit whatever I’m dealing with at the moment (morning sickness, dehydration, etc). The best part is that I’ve scaled these recipes to feed our large family and they are easy to customize for food allergies and my kids have all eaten everything I’ve made. The chicken/black bean/salsa bake made the best homemade burritos we’ve ever had. I’ll be using these recipes for the next few months, and many more beyond.

Good recipes, lack of attention to detail
Recipes look great, but some of the categories they claim a recipe is in are just wrong. One has almonds and pecans but claims that if you leave the pecans out, it’s nut free. That’s not how that works. Another claims it’s dairy free but calls for ricotta and mozzarella.

Read it but haven’t made anything
In theory this was great with the different remedies for pregnancy problems. I looked through the whole book when I got it, but here i am at the end of my pregnancy and didn’t end up making anything from the book. Could be because the first trimester I was nauseous the whole time and didn’t want to eat anything, and then just didn’t have the desire to look through the book again later in pregnancy to pick out recipes since it’s easier to just search online for something that sounds good.

I bought two!
I bought this cookbook for my pregnant daughter. While visiting, I made many of the recipes for her. She really enjoyed the recipes, and I felt great about how nutritious and tasty everything was for my daughter and her growing baby. In fact, I am so impressed, Iâm buying another copy of the cookbook for myself! These recipes will appeal to more than expectant moms! They are great for anyone with an appetite and desire to eat healthier!

Great book for a cook during a first pregnancy
Excellent little cookbook. My wife is pregnant with our first, so of course we bought every book under the sun.I take care of most of the cooking, and these first few weeks of morning sickness and appetite change have made my normal go-tos not as good for her. This book is filled with nutritious recipes that mostly fall into the categories that she doesn’t find suddenly horrible (which is great!) I can tell we’ll be using this daily for next 30 weeks or so. Everything from smoothies and soups and snacks– enough variety to keep things interesting.Definitely recommend.

Great book, but would have preferred more photos as very few.As a midwife I was very pleased to see the comments regarding lactation cookies and teas – that they are not evidence based, but widely accepted.

I would only recommend that book if you have no basis in cuisine, if you’re already someone cooking often it won’t help.
